Indians can enter in these countries after Malaysia, Thailand and Sri Lanka joins the list

The Passport Index has placed India at 137th position in its latest ranking. Passport Index is a global benchmark of travel freedom and passport strength. This index analyzes passport strength based on the number of countries citizens can travel without visa. It revealed that Indian passport holder faces visa requirement for entry into 123 countries.

Malaysia joined the list of countries providing visa-free facility to Indian nationals to promote tourism..

This Index disclose the power rank as well. Indian Passport rank stands at 68. The passport index's number signifies a moderate standing in contrast to other nations, it shows the current state of India's international mobility amid three Asian countries deciding on visa-free travel for Indian nationals for a certain period.

With a score of 75, the Indian passport allows travel to 23 countries without visa and visa-on-arrival access to 49 countries, according to the index. Now, three more countries has allowed to travel visa-free to Indian citizen to boost tourism, taking the total of 26.

Indian passport holders can travel visa-free to Barbados, Angola, Dominica, Bhutan, El Salvador, Fiji, Gambia, Gabon, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Macao, Kiribati, Mauritius, Nepal, Micronesia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Palestinian Territories, Senegal, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Vanuatu, Trinidad and Tobago, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia.

The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim has announced important information on Monday. he announced that Indian and Chinese citizens can travel visa-free from December 1, joining Thailand and Sri Lanka in few past weeks to offer this facility to foreigners to promote tourism. The current eight ASEAN countries enjoying the 30-days visa-free entry for the purpose of social visits, business and tourism.

India remains among the top countries to contribute in tourism in Malaysia. 

Sri Lanka has introduced a visa-free entry initiatives for visitors from China, Russia, Malaysia, Japan, India, Indonesia, and Thailand. 

This initiative is effected till March 31, 2023. It aims to boost tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka. With the tourism ministry to setting a goal of 5 million tourists in the coming years.

Thailand also allowed travelers from India and Taiwan to travel visa free. Indian travelers can travel to Thailand for upto 30 days, the government announced recently.

This visa free access is applicable from November 10, 2023 , to May 10, 2024 for Indian Travelers.

India's passport power and ranking will improve after these announcements.

The UAE (United Arab Emirates) remains the country with the world's strongest passport. With this passport UAE citizen can travel visa-free to 116 countries and visa-on-arrival to 57 countries. The United Arab Emirates mobility score reached an impressive 173.
